Project updates

December 14, 2019

We've wrapped up our project for the quarter, but we hope to have it continued on by another group in Pete's next class. You can take a look at our recap video here, if you'd like.

We've put together a rough budget for both concrete expenses that have already been paid (for example, for the WAEV website's software and web hosting services) and those that are proposed to fund other aspects of the project, like our tentative proposal for packaging the weaning formula. Stay tuned for our final numbers—we'll post a link to our slide deck and video shortly, which should contain those more solid estimates.

The WAEV website is now officially live and up-to-date with content; in addition, we've helped set up Clif and Saing'orie with access to the software powering their website, Squarespace, and shown them how to use it—they've already added a bunch of additional photos and messages under the updates section. You can take a look at the website at www.waevngo.org.

We taken stock of our progress so far, as well as clarified our project goals and process, in a series of presentations for class. If you'd like, you can flip through our group's slide deck here.

Part of our project has been helping Clif get the WAEV website up and running so that he and Saing'orie can make updates to it on their own, without having to rely on a web developer (like they have to do now for their current website). Over the past week, we helped start a new website on Squarespace that they'll both be able to edit from anywhere, as well as provided four hours of Squarespace training to get Clif off the ground and making edits. Cody will be on hand throughout the rest of the quarter to make sure there aren't any website bugs that need to be fixed.

You can take a look at the new WAEV website (once it's finished) at www.waevngo.org.

We’re still getting our project off the ground at the moment, but be sure to check back for more updates throughout the fall. In the meantime, maybe try learning a little more about what our project seeks to accomplish here.
