Why I’m starting a blog
“Hello world!” as a phrase seems fairly innocuous. It’s everyone’s first step in learning just about any programming language and has even found its way into the default blog post of my new WordPress installation. However, “Hello world!” is a phrase that holds a lot more heft behind it than it looks like at face value.
I’m determined to start a blog. I’ve had a photo blog for a little over a year now and I figured that since I’ve always enjoyed writing, starting a blog (and posting to it regularly) will help me hone my writing as well as (hopefully) share some insights or opinions and get some feedback from readers like you. Since I’m into a bunch of different things — web design and development, photography, reading, skiing, education, etc. — this blog’ll likely be a big feed of disjointed posts, but that’s okay with me because I’m still writing.
This post was pretty short. But I don’t think that’s really very important. What is important is seeing those words printed out on the screen in front of me, an invitation to get started. To dive in. And that’s exactly what I plan to do. Until next time.
